Smooth leather boots (and bags) can be cleaned with any leather cleaner. We prefer to use a saddle soap because of all the fine dust that gets into the crevices out here in the desert. Using a saddle soap includes water, so anytime your cleaner is a watery liquid or uses water make sure you let your leather dry out. Then we apply either: a leather balm, conditioner, oil, or shoe cream! For the creams, you can choose a color similar to the color of your boot. If your boots have lighter color stitching than the leather (on the welt too), or generally have multiple colors and designs, you may just want to go with neutral. This is go on white, but will blend in clear.
