Mountaineering Boots
Most mountaineering boots are able to be resoled or rebuilt.
What types of repairs do you do?
La sportiva offers replacement soles for the Nepal G2, Trango Tech, and Aequilibrium boots.
If we can't get the exact replacement sole, the only other option is to shape a similar midsole out of EVA (Polyurethane is not available for the repair industry because of the way it is manufactured and applied) and add a comparable Vibram sole. We recommend the 1014 Teton, 1048 Kletterlift, or 1276 Sierra. Google “Vibram Repair Catalog” to find a PDF with descriptions and pictures. This repair would look and feel very similar to the original midsole and sole.
How will I know if my shoes can be repaired?
When are they too far gone and should be replaced?
Namely if your upper materials are cracked and torn, it’s likely not worth it because they’ll fall apart before you get the full use of the new sole/welt/etc… Send us good photos of multiple angles to confirm with us.
How much do these repairs cost?
If we cannot source the original sole, which typically comes with the cushioning layer, then the work will run you $250-300.
If we can source the original sole and do not need to rebuild the cushioning layer, then about $170.
